Community projects

From the very beginning of setting up the Damaris-Tina Association, we have been concerned with the social problems of those in our community. Thus, we have started some projects aiming to improve the quality of life and education of disadvantaged people.

In Însurăței town, we have built a center for preaching the gospel together with an After School where almost 30 children from poor families receive a warm meal and can do their homework assisted by specialized staff, and then they can enjoy playing together with other children.

Also in the village of Lanurile where there are about 2,000 gypsies, we have built a large center for preaching the gospel and an After School for the children living in this village.

At present, in Viziru district, we are building another center for preaching the gospel and an After School for the 1500 gypsies living here.

At first, we had a small, improvised space for the storage of goods donated by good-hearted people. After a while we built spacious warehouse to better store the material aids (clothing, furniture, food) coming once every 4 or 6 months from several countries.

So far we have succeeded in this, with the help of God, who touched people’s hearts and donated money so that we were able to help four families to build houses. They were families with 9, 4, 7, or 5 children, and now they have a safe roof over their heads.

As God has particularly spoken to us, we have begun the procedures needed to build a Christian center where 20-25 orphan children will be able to live and grow in a Christian, peaceful and protective atmosphere.

The building will have a dining room and a kitchen, a multifunctional playground, bedrooms and two living rooms, one on each level. So far, with God’s help, we have bought nearly 5,000 square meters and the next step is to get the documents for the building.
